Step into the world of Jon & Mary’s Curios.
Welcome to our little corner of the maker world! We are Jon and Mary, and along with our incredibly hard-working Head of Marketing—a distinguished, nine-year-old Jackawawa named Errol—we run a small family craft business out of our converted chapel workshop here in beautiful North Wales.
Together, we craft way more than just handcrafted silver jewellery, steampunk-inspired wooden robots, and eclectic keepsake boxes; we breathe life into raw materials to help you capture a feeling, share a smile, or tell your own unique story.
Meet the Makers (and the Boss)
If you’ve ever stopped by our stall at a local craft fair or agricultural show, you already know we are a bit of a trio.
- Mary is the creative spark of the operation. She works entirely by intuition, layering vibrant colours, floral details, and gorgeous textures onto our keepsakes and robots without a single blueprint or sketch in sight.
- Jon (known affectionately by certain short-legged staff members as the “-ing eejit”) is the electronic engineer and resident mechanic who wrestles with the heavy machinery, minds the CNC router, and occasionally tries to fly away like a kite while putting up our market gazebo in the morning wind.
- Errol is, by his own account, the true mastermind and the absolute center of attention. While Jon and Mary are busy creating, Errol is on the front lines. He takes his marketing duties very seriously, whether he’s getting cozy on Mary’s lap, keeping a sharp eye out for passing doggs from a strategic hiding spot under the table cloth, or bravely inspecting the local wildlife.
Born in the Chapel Workshop
Every single piece we sell has been touched by hand, shaped by imagination, and approved by a dog who knows the value of a good bow tie. Our textured, reticulated silver jewellery is designed to catch the light, our quirky robot figures are built to spark a bit of nostalgic joy, and our keepsake boxes are made to safely guard your absolute favourite treasures (and maybe a secret or two).
When you buy from us, you aren’t just getting an object off a shelf. You are taking home a piece of our workshop’s story—and probably a little bit of Errol’s blessing, too.
Feel free to explore our current selection and find the handmade treasure that speaks to you. We are always making, always “exploding” for new ideas, and always happy to welcome a new friend to the family.

Silver Jewellery: Wearable Art Born from the Bench
Every piece of silver we create has a story to tell. Born directly from the jeweler’s bench in our chapel workshop, this collection brings together traditional metalwork techniques and highly imaginative design. We do not just shape metal; we forge narratives you can wear.
The Goddess Mummy and the “-ing eejit” put endless patience and dedication into transforming raw silver into unique, wearable art. Errol, naturally, keeps a very close eye on the bench to ensure everything meets the strict quality standards of a high-flying canine supervisor (and to make sure nothing shiny falls on the floor without a proper inspection).
Our collection balances time-honored craftsmanship with that distinct, quirky spirit that defines everything we do. We layer our silver with:
- Beautifully organic, molten, and reticulated textures that catch the light
- Bold, structural forms that stand out in a crowd
- Deliberate, intricate details that invite you to look closer
Whether you are looking for a striking statement piece to wear to your next big event or a subtle, everyday treasure to hold close, these designs are crafted to speak to you.

The Robot Collection: A Gallery of Whimsy
Welcome to our workshop’s mechanical menagerie! Our quirky robot figures are way more than just decorative ornaments; they are handcrafted mechanical characters waiting to bring a smile to your face. We don’t just build them; we breathe unique personality into every single block of timber.
Each character begins life as a pile of hand-selected wood, vintage metal components, and curious findings right here in our converted chapel studio. The Goddess Mummy and the “-ing eejit” bolt, carve, and glue them into existence. Mary works entirely by intuition—no blueprints or sketches allowed—layering the forms with rich textures, while Jon handles the heavy engineering.
Naturally, Errol oversees the final quality inspection. As a dog who respects good design, he makes sure every robot has the perfect amount of retro charm and is completely safe from any passing cats who might get jealous of their style.
We balance traditional craft with a bold, 1950s science-fiction and steampunk aesthetic. Our robots feature:
- Hand-selected timber blocks with beautiful, tactile wood grains
- Quirky decorations made from authentic gears, springs, and vintage mechanical findings
- Individual personalities that hold character in their gears and warmth in their hand-painted details
Some stand stoic and ready for duty. Others look ready to cause a bit of mischief. These aren’t factory-made automatons; no two are identical. Each one represents a perfect fusion of artisan craft and playful imagination, built to sit proudly on your desk, guard your bookshelf, or act as a completely original gift.
Explore our assembly line of characters hiding among the shelves. From wide-eyed observers to little inventors, every robot carries its own story. We hope you enjoy meeting them as much as we enjoyed bringing them to life!

Keepsake Boxes: A Proper Home for Secrets, Stories, and Small Wonders
Every treasure needs a proper home. I am not just talking about where a clever doggie might hide a spare treat, but your precious trinkets, love letters, secrets, and small wonders.
Our keepsake boxes do way more than just sit there looking pretty on a shelf. They are a total canvas for the imagination. The Goddess Mummy and the “-ing eejit” decorate these beautiful vessels entirely by hand right here in our converted chapel workshop. They layer them up with:
- Amazing tactile textures you just want to touch
- Vibrant, bright colours that catch the eye
- Intricate details, gears, and beautiful findings that make you stop and look close
The biggest scoop? No two boxes are identical. Some feature delicate floral arrangements, while others boast bold, quirky surfaces that completely defy expectations. Each one represents a unique fusion of utility and art, crafted to hold those special items you simply cannot part with.
These boxes are 100% designed to spark joy. Whether you are tucking away a collection of cool found objects or keeping a special gift safe, our keepsakes provide a secure and beautiful space for your most valued memories.
Explore our current selection and find the box that speaks to you. We hope you find one as completely unique as the treasures you intend to keep inside.
